1900s Edwardian Embroidered Linen Summer Walking Suit Jacket
What a beautiful sight this summer walking suit must have been in its heyday! Unfortunately, the skirt is long gone but lucky for you this gorgeous jacket still remains!
Fashioned in a thick, high-quality linen, this summer-weight jacket is unlined and features lovely pastel purple, green and yellow floral embroidery details around the collar. Sleeves are lightly gathered at the shoulder for added fullness. Cuff fastens with three celluloid buttons.
Jacket is single-breasted with an asymmetrical cut and semi-fitted at the waist, which was customary at the time. It is French seamed and trimmed in linen. Jacket fastens with 4 celluloid buttons.
Sleeve Length: 23.5"
Total Length: 33"
Condition: Very Good
Overall, jacket is in excellent vintage condition but does show slight signs of wear. There is some very faint discoloration on the back under the collar and a few tiny picks in the material. There is one tiny rust colored spot (pictured) on the inside collar. It is not visible when worn. Some of the embroidery work on the back shows very slight signs of wear. None of these flaws detract as they are so minimal. Priced accordingly.
