1910s/1920s Beaded Floral Garden Evening Bag with Stripes
If you have been searching for a jaw-dropping evening bag, look no further. This is it!
Made sometime in the late 1910s to early 1920s, this heavily beaded bag is a stunner! Made with tiny glass seed beads, this bag has a colorful garden motif with an array of pink, blue and orange flowers positioned under a green and white striped border. The design repeats on the other side. The bag is attached to a silver metal hardware with a scrolling Art Nouveau motif on the front and a dainty floral pattern along the edge. The chain strap is comprised of petite hammered rings.
The purse is lined in silk fabric and has an interior pocket.
Height: 8.5" bag itself; 15.5" from center of handle to bottom bag
Condition: Very Good
Bag has all of its beads. It has one small stain on a white stripe at the top (See photo). The silk lining is discolored and there is a tear on the seam. Could easily be repaired. There is light wear along the bottom edge of the bag. Still very useable. Priced accordingly.
