1910s Art Nouveau Paste and Celluloid Hair Comb
Beautiful, ornate and often resembling a royal crown, hair combs have been adorning the coiffures of women for centuries! Fashioned in everything from bone and ivory to tortoise shell and wood, these fine hair accoutrements reached their heyday in the 1920s and 1930s.
This stunning piece is from the Art Nouveau era. Fashioned in warm light amber colored celluloid with painted black teeth and accents, this intricate comb has a flattering curved shape with a wavy vine motif. It is decorated in brilliant sapphire colored paste rhinestones. It truly is a stunning piece!
Condition: Very Good
All rhinestones are present. Some of the black paint has worn off the centerpiece. Does not detract. Priced accordingly.
