SOLD -- 1910s Ruppersberger Edwardian Linen Motoring Coat
This product is unavailable
Hang on to your hat and get ready to hit the road in this fabulous Edwardian driving duster! Originally, these coats were designed to keep a lady's frock free from automobile grease and any dirt and mud that might be kicked up while whisking off to her destination. They are becoming more and more difficult to find, especially in a condition as nice as this one.
Fashioned in a heavy, high-quality ecru linen, this duster is meticulously made with beautiful French seams and patch pockets adorning each hip. Each sleeve is finished with a folded cuff and 2 wooden buttons. The fold over collar is fastened underneath for a tighter fit, but could also be worn unbuttoned. The jacket closes with 5 wooden buttons.
Sleeve Length: 23"
Overall Length: 52"
Condition: Very Good
There is slight discoloration and staining throughout, which given the purpose of this coat is expected. Unlike other motor coats, this one has very few grease stains.
