1920s J&T Cousins Silver Lamé Brocade Evening Shoes
As the 1920s hemline rose to new (shorter) lengths, more emphasis was placed on footwear than ever before. Shoe makers began experimenting with geometric forms to create more innovative and fashionable footwear to compliment the new woman.
These fabulous evening shoes beautifully reflect all that was popular in shoe making during the Roaring 20s. They are fashioned in a single ankle strap Mary Jane design, which was one of the favored styles for ladies of the time, and covered in sparkling silver metallic thread brocade with a lovely leaf and berry pattern.
Shoes have a canvas and leather upper and a hard leather sole with a French heel. Each strap is adorned with a pearlescent glass button.
The inside footbed is marked Made for J & T Cousins, Philadelphia. The heel is marked size 6 A (please see measurements and notes below for accurate sizing).
