1920s Red Ruche Velvet Flapper Dress with Gold Lame & Ombre Ribbon Work
The devil is in the details with this red hot little number! If you are looking for a show stopping number for your next 1920s Art Deco event, then look no further!
Fashioned in a soft fiery red velvet, this fun dress is ruched on the sides and around the drop waist to create a billowy bodice. (Remember: Out with the fitted dress and in with the formless sack dress!) It is a sleeveless pullover design with no additional openings or fasteners.
The real beauty of this piece is in the intricately folded lame-tipped ombre ribbon work that accents the skirt of this dress. Each trim has been hand folded using a French technique and tacked. It is truly unique and gives the dress a wonderful 3-D element!
Dress has an attached silk slip.
Total Length: 42.5"
**Wearer should be smaller than given measurements as this piece must go over the head and has no additional openings.**
Condition: Very Good
There are a few tiny wear spots in the velvet and a very faint dark spot that appeared in the back of the skirt after steaming. The lining is discolored and is starting to shred. Could easily be patched as no one will see it. The underarms and the ribbon work on this piece is spectacular. No major flaws to note. Priced accordingly.
