1920s Silk Netted Boudoir Cap with Train & Yellow Silk Ribbon Trim
Keep your fingerwaves looking fresh while you sleep with this beautiful silk and lace boudoir cap. Originally advertised as ideal "for the smart bedroom woman," these caps were essential to hide undressed hair and to keep the 1920s woman looking presentable during breakfast or morning tea with her beau.
The style of this particular cap is highly reminiscent of a 1920s bridal cap and veil, which makes me believe this was probably worn on a young lady's wedding night. It is beautifully crafted in the softest silk netting and trimmed with sunny yellow silk ribbons. The back of the cap split into two veil-like tails edged in yellow ribbon. A large silk ribbon rose adorns the side of the cap with ribbons trailing from it. A petite ribbon rose is fastened to the center crown.
There is an elastic band around the brim of this hat to allow ease when putting it on.
A must-have for any sensible flapper!
Condition: Very Good
Overall this cap is in excellent shape. However, the elastic band is shot and needs to be replaced and the large ribbon rose is starting to shred in the center. The dangling ribbon ends are beginning to fray (which could be fixed with a quick trim). Priced accordingly.
