1930s Saratoga Springs Souvenir Compact
It's hard to look at this compact and not think of Clark Gable and Jean Harlow cheering on their horse at the race track in the 1937 film "Saratoga," (which was actually filmed at the Saratoga Race Course).
The city of Saratoga Springs, NY is known for two things: its healing spring waters and horse racing. This wonderful souvenir compact focuses on the latter with its raised decorative shield showcasing three race horses.
Fashioned in a gold plated base metal and stamped "Made in the USA," this compact does not look like it has ever been used. While the outside shows multiple signs of wear (perhaps from being tossed about in a drawer or a jewelry box), the inside mirror is crystal clear. It also comes with the original powder puff and powder screen, both are unused.
All you need to do is add your own powder and you will have a truly great conversation piece! This is the perfect gift for any Jean Harlow fan!
Compact: 2" Around
Outside has multiple scuffs and scratches. Inside is clean and unused. Priced accordingly.
