SOLD -- 1940s 14k Gold & Garnet Thai Princess Ring
This product is unavailable
Handcrafted by Thai jewelers to emulate the royal crowns worn by their country's princesses, the highly coveted Thai princess ring became popular in the 1940s when U.S. servicemen were stationed in the West.
Military men would purchase one of these beautiful rings and send it home to their sweethearts. They often would select a ring that corresponded to their darling's birthstone. This one is fully encrusted with deep red garnets, which would mean the original wearer was born in January.
This 3-dimensional ring is set in 14k gold, which is marked and has been professionally tested. There are three tiers of 10 beautiful round bevel-set garnets in graduated sizes. Each side of the ring also is adorned with a set garnet as is the centerpiece.
There are a total of 33 garnets in this ring. Stones have a lot of fire and sparkle. This truly is a remarkable piece.
