SOLD -- 1940s Morlove "The Couturier Blouse" Beaded Starburst Collar Rayon Blouse
This product is unavailable
After the wartime restrictions were lifted following the end of WWII, ladies fashion became feminine and delicate once more. Blouses were made of silkier fabrics, such as rayon, and were often embellished (since women no longer had to worry about getting caught in factory machines).
This beautiful blouse is a perfect example of post-war fashion. Cut in the silkiest ivory rayon, this striking blouse features an exquisite two-tone beaded collar with lines of metallic silver and white seed beads jutting downward in a starburst pattern.
Blouse has snaps in the shoulder seam for shoulder pads. Unfortunately, the shoulder pads were removed at some point and are missing from this piece. Top fastens up the back with lucite buttons.
Total Length: 23"
Label: Morlove, The Couturier Blouse
Condition: Very Good
There is one tiny spot on the back of the blouse near the dart. The metallic silver paint has come off of some of the seed beads, so they are now clear instead of silver. However, all beads are present. Original shoulder pads are missing. Priced accordingly.
