SOLD -- 1940s Glamorous Pink Net and Sequin Starlet Evening Gown
This product is unavailable
Plucked from the closet of a 1940s songstress, if this dress could talk, oh the stories it would tell! This beautiful handmade gown looks like it stepped off the silver screen. One could easily imagine Rita Hayworth gliding across the screen while wearing it.
The blouse portion of the gown is crafted in a pretty pink nylon with ruched shoulders and waist. It also has the quintessential 1940s shoulder pads. The skirt is made of three tiers of baby pink netting that is accented with metallic gold sequins sewn on like buttons. Each tier of netting is hemmed with horsehair trim.
Total length: 60"
This dress has been worn and loved. Some of the waist ruching is coming undone. There are two small holes on the back and tiny pinholes throughout. There are a few holes in the netting and the bottom of the netting is starting to tear from rubbing on the ground. There is a faint dirt line across back of the blouse near the waist. These cosmetic flaws do not detract from the beauty of this dress. Priced accordingly.
