1940s Straw & Horsehair Open Crown Hat with Red Poppies
Vibrant, jaunty, fun and the epitome summer!
This darling chapeau is fashioned in strips of natural straw and sheer horsehair giving the hat a neutral striped appearance. Hat has an open crown with a wired edge to keep its shape. Brim also is wired.
Brim of the hat is covered in black French netting and adorned with two bright red silk poppy flowers flanked on either side with pink silk leaves.
Front to Back: 13"
Side to Side: 12.5"
Condition: Very Good
Most of the issues with this hat are on the underside and are not visible when worn. The inside grosgrain band is stained and there also is some discoloration on the underside of the brim under the poppies. The brim of the hat is slightly misshaped at the back where the two ends of the wire meet inside. Not overly noticeable. Priced accordingly.
