1950s Bombshell Floral Cotton Swing Dress with Gold Sequin Trim & Matching Wrap
Whoever handmade this stunning number clearly was paying homage to the California Colony Casual dresses that were popular at the time, and boy did they do a fabulous job! Only the expert eye would be able to spot the difference!
This darling frock is fashioned in a medium-weight black cotton with a floral motif in beautiful shades of gold, sky blue, lavender, sea foam green and ivory. It features a flattering gathered bust that attaches at the shoulder to thinner black straps that form a bow in the back. Each shoulder is adorned by a metallic gold button.
Dress is tapered and fitted at the waist before flaring into a full circles skirt. The front of the skirt is decorated with gold sequins adorned in a random squiggle pattern (as was a signature of the California Colony Casual dress).
Dress has side pockets and is lined with a stiffened crinoline underskirt. Fastens on the side with a metal zipper.
Frock also comes with a matching shawl wrap, made out of the same dress material and lined in solid black. Shawl is trimmed in matching gold sequins.
