1950s Harris Tweed Olive Green & Brown Checked Tweed Sport Coat with Throat Latch
This jacket puts the "sporting" back in the sports coat!
Fashioned in the highly desirable Harris Tweed cloth, this single breasted 3-roll-2 jacket is impeccably made with very small notch lapels, a single vent, classic flap pockets and a standard breast pocket.
Jacket also has a throat latch, which was a common feature on 19th century hacking and equestrian jackets. When buttoned, it fully protects the wearer from the elements. Having the original throat latch is a rarity. Most have been lost over time.
Coat is half lined and has two internal pockets.
Harris Tweed is a handwoven, pure virgin wool cloth that is spun and dyed by residents of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It is known for its high quality.
