1960s Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association Letterman Jacket
Used by Cape Cod fisherman to gain access to previously inaccessible waters, beach buggies first became popular at the end of WWII. By 1950, as the number of buggies continued to grow, a group of fisherman decided to start the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association. That group is still active today.
This jacket is a piece of Cape Cod history. It is fashioned in black wool and trimmed in gold with the MBBA logo embroidered on the back. It is fully lined and closes with 7 enamel over metal snaps.
What makes this piece even more unique is the 1964 R.J Schaefer Salt Water Fishing Contest Five Time Winner patch sewn onto the shoulder. A great collector's piece.
