SOLD -- Fabulous 1940s Germaine Montabert Avant-Garde Rayon and Felt Floral Tilt Hat with Veil
This product is unavailable
At first glance, this hat evokes visions of Sylvia Fowler's (played by Rosalind Russell) awe-inspiring chapeaux from the 1939 film, "The Women."
This avant-garde tilt hat is not for the faint of heart! Fashioned in perfectly draped and pleated rayon in a tear drop shape, this hat has an upturned wired crown that comes out like a ledge over a bed of baby pink wool felt flowers and leaves. Black hexagonal French netting attaches at the sides and drapes down over the face.
A matching thick rayon ribbon ties under the hair for a secure fit.
Label: Germaine Montabert, Miller & Rhoads
Condition: Very Good
There are a number of breaks in the veil, but it is still wearable as it (or easily replaced). Priced accordingly.
